Numerical and experimental study of droplet-film-interaction for low pressure steam turbine erosion protection applications

چکیده
One common approach for anti-erosion measures in low pressure steam turbines is to equip a hollow stator vane with slots on the airfoil surface order remove water film by suction and consequently reduce amount of secondary droplets. The purpose this paper build an understanding predominant effects fluid-film interaction examine suitability modern numerical methods design process such slots. performance slot terms collection rate air leakage investigated numerically flatplate setup upstream injection water. In model relevant phenomena (film transport, edge stripping droplets, transport droplets surrounding fluid, wall impingement droplets) unsteady Eulerian-Lagrangian simulation applied. accuracy assessed comparison experimental measurements. four cases measured data demonstrates that chosen able predict main features flow fluid. as well fluid properties show same qualitative dependency from mass velocity.
